HQR - C2
At last.... A Picture in Picture (PiP) bullet camera and recorder kit that's easy to set up and easy to use! Highly recommended for an in car or on bike two camera setup.
This is a brand new and unique product. Nothing else like this currently exists on the market place without having cables and connectors and external monitors and a bible sized manual.
The HQR - C2 is basically a HQR2 high quality digital video recorder with built-in picture in picture processor.
You
can plug 2 x Bullet cameras in to this device and it will inlay the
picture from one camera in to the other. So you can have a main forward
facing camera and a camera pointing to the rear or at your clocks or
pedals.
You get complete control of the position and the size of the PiP.
Unlike
other products available, the HQR - C2 provides power to the bullet
cameras and displays what you are recording on it's built-in LCD
screen, one smart box does it all. An IR remote is supplied to allow
you to either select full screen from either of the cameras, PiP or
side by side mode.
You can make these changes in real-time as you are recording.
Because this uses the same electronics for encoding video as the HQR2 you can expect high quality mpeg4 or mpeg2 video recordings with all the extra features such as LANC remote compatibility, "Sports Mode" and record on power up. 720 x 576 resolution 8mb/s in either Mpeg2 or Mpeg4 mode.
The HQR - C2 has a built-in Li-poly gel battery which will power itself plus 2 x HQ2 bullet cameras for over 2 hours. Powering the HQR - C2 from an external 12v source such as your car or bike's battery is simple using the addtional cig lighter adapter kit or hard wiring kit.
The real selling point for this package is just how easy it is to setup. Traditionally multi-camera systems require installation with lots of connectors and wiring to deal with. The HQR - C2 makes it pretty much plug and play providing a completly portable and affordable picture in picture bullet camera system.
You can purchase the HQR - C2 recorder by itself to be used with your existing cameras although for maximum power consumption and image quality we highly recommend using the HQ2 cameras.
HQR - C2 has the same high quality push-fit locking connector found on the HQR2 which breaks out to five connections, two for video, two for 12v power for the cameras and an external audio input for connecting an external microphone or connection to an Intercom or radio system.

This is the compact DVR we have all been waiting for. The pocket sized HQR1 digital video recorder has the best image quality of any recording device on the market under £1k.
This solid state DVR uses compact flash cards and encodes video with no moving parts. It can be set to either record mpeg2 or mpeg4 video and with an adjustable bit rate from 1mb/s up to 8mb/s. 720 x 576 @ 25fps.
It has a built-in li-ion battery which will record and provide power to the bullet cameras for about 80mins. You can also plug any 12v supply in to it to extend record times.
This unit also supports the LANC remote controller so you can keep it tucked safely out of the way and remain in full control.
The HQR-1 is supplied with excellent configuration software compatible with all versions of windows including Vista. The software allows you to change many features such as time/date stamping, video quality and colour/contrast controls.
Most functions can also be controlled in the field using the LCD display. It has a built-in mic and can also take audio from both line and audio inputs making it easy to connect to an intercom such as the peltor systems (line audio output is required on your intercom). This recorder uses compact flash cards. Most laptops have a PCMCIA slot on them so you will be able to take the card out from the recorder and instantly view the video on your computer. If you don't have a PCMCIA slot then a CF card reader can be purchased for less than £10.00 from just about anywhere on the web. The video processor in this recorder uses advanced algorithms to reduce the effect of interlacing articles attributed to digital video when played back on a TFT screen. A high quality IRIS port is provided to give a supperior connection to your camera. Cables are provided to adapt any composite video signal so it's compatible with just about all cameras on the market.
